Hajra Kalam, Psychologist MSc
I specialise in trauma, addiction, anxiety, stress, depression, burnout, interpersonal conflicts, and identity issues and offer tailored therapeutic approaches to support my clients' unique needs. Based in the Netherlands, I provide online therapy ensuring accessibility for individuals across different locations and countries.
As a proud member of the creative, FLINTA, BIPOC, and expat communities I understand the struggles they face, which has made me passionate about providing culturally competent and affirming care. Therapy with me is safe, non-judgmental, open-minded, and inclusive; wherein I create a supportive space for individuals to explore their emotions and experiences freely.
Driven by a desire to expand my theoretical and practical knowledge, I pursued a Master's in Clinical Psychology at Erasmus University Rotterdam in the Netherlands. My MSc allowed me to work with individuals who struggled with addiction, personality disorders, depressive disorders, eating disorders, and a wide range of severe mental health problems. Most recently I have shared my knowledge with bachelor Psychology students by teaching and mentoring them, and doing the precious work of helping to shape the future of mental health professionals.
Having worked in the wide space that encapsulates mental health work, I realise that my passion lies in working 1-on-1 with clients and offering hands on support . This has led me to establish my practice, where I help individuals navigate the challenges of everyday life and foster a positive and emphatic understanding of themselves and the world.
I am a compassionate mental health professional with a dedication to supporting individuals in their journey toward personal growth and emotional well-being.
I completed my high school education in India, before pursuing a BSc in Psychology at the University of Kent, UK. During my studies, I had the opportunity to spend a semester abroad in Sri Lanka, where I volunteered with various NGOs focused on improving the mental health conditions of disadvantaged communities. It was during this time that I started honing the skill to support individuals in building their self-esteem and resilience, and resolving inner conflicts while guiding their overall mental development.

It’s Complicated
I am a member of the It’s Complicated international community for therapists, where I regularly attend peer intervision meetings with fellow therapists to reflect on clinical work, discuss cases, and stay up to date with current practices and developments in my field. These sessions are both a space for shared insight and support —an important part of how I continue growing and learning as a therapist!
Whether you’re a fellow therapist or someone passionate about mental health, I’d love to connect. Let’s get in touch, share, learn, and build a supportive community together.
