FAQs

  • Therapy is available for anyone aged 18 and over. If you’re younger than 18, feel free to reach out so we can explore whether I can support you or guide you to the right care.

You don’t need a referral or a formal diagnosis to begin therapy with me. However, I recommend checking with your insurance provider to understand what’s covered before getting started.

  • I work with individuals navigating a wide range of emotional, psychological, and life challenges, including:

    - Depression and mood-related difficulties

    - Mild to moderate substance use

    - Anxiety and panic symptoms

    - Obsessive-compulsive patterns

    - Trauma and post-traumatic stress

    - Chronic stress and burnout

    - Relationship issues and questions around sexuality

    - Low self-worth and self-esteem

    - ADHD and ADD

    - Emotional regulation challenges

    - Life transitions and major changes

    - Grief, loss, and bereavement

    - Mindfulness and self-awareness

    - Exploring sexuality and identity

  • In some cases, more intensive or specialized care may be needed. At this time, I do not offer treatment for:

    - Acute suicidal risk

    - Severe eating disorders (e.g., anorexia with BMI under 17)

    - Severe substance dependence

    - Aggression that poses a safety concern

    - Psychosis or related symptoms

    - Individuals under 16

    - Serious neurological disorders

If any of these apply, I recommend seeking specialized services that are better suited to provide the care you deserve.

  • All sessions are currently offered online via secure video platforms like Zoom, Google Meet, or through It’s Complicated.

Prefer to meet in person? You're welcome to reach out and I’ll see if we can make that work.

    • Session duration: Most sessions are 60 minutes, but I can also offer shorter (30-minute) or longer (90-minute) sessions depending on your needs.

    • Frequency: This is flexible. Some clients prefer weekly sessions, others meet biweekly or monthly.

    • Treatment length: Therapy can be short-term (e.g., 5 sessions) or long-term, depending on your goals. We’ll decide together what works best for you.

You’re free to take a break or end therapy at any point. Your journey is always your own.

  • You can cancel or reschedule a session free of charge up to 24 hours in advance.

If you cancel later than that or don’t attend the session, the full fee applies. Please note: missed appointments are not reimbursable by insurance.

    For fairness and safety:

    • Arriving more than 15 minutes late counts as a no-show.

    • Sessions will be ended if a client appears under the influence or behaves aggressively, and the full fee still applies.

  • Yes. Your privacy is a top priority. What you share in therapy stays between us. I do not share information with insurance companies or third parties without your explicit written permission.

There are just a few exceptions:

    • I may consult anonymously with other professionals in peer supervision to ensure quality care. These professionals are also bound by confidentiality.

    • If there’s a legal obligation (e.g. court order), or if there’s a serious risk of harm to you or others, I may need to share relevant information.

  • Yes, I offer a limited number of sliding scale spots for clients facing financial hardship. If this applies to you, please email me at kalampsychology@gmail.com to explore availability.
